Burl H. Hoke, 77, of Laconia, died Sunday, February 4, 2018, at his home near Laconia. He was born March 5, 1940, in Elizabeth, Indiana, to the late Homer and Florence Brim Hoke. He was a retired truck driver with the Harrison County Highway Department and several other companies, was a farmer, was a member of the American Legion Hornickle Post #379 in Elizabeth and the Jefferson Masonic Lodge #104 F&AM in New Albany, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Harold and Garold Hoke.
Survivors include his wife, Alice M. Stevens Hoke; his son, Burl Allen Hoke of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; his daughter, Shelia Faye Hoke of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his sister, Doris LaPlant of Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Allison and Alexandra Hoke; and his great grandchildren, Colton Kiesler and Aspen Lyons.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Charles Pelc will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery near Laconia.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
There will be a Masonic memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Rehoboth Cemetery Foundation.
Pallbearers will be Roy Stewart, Joey LaPlant, Douglas Kaiser, Ronnie Mifflin, Jeff Pease and Sheldon Dennison.
