Betty Jean Greer

Betty Jean Greer, 90, of Corydon, died Monday, May 7, 2018, at her home in Corydon.  She was born October 27, 1927, in Floyd County, Indiana, to the late John Eliza and Velva L. Pearson Minter.  She was formerly employed at the old H.A. Seinsheimer’s Shirt Factory in New Albany and at the Harrison County Hospital kitchen in Corydon, and was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church near Corydon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arville Gilbert Greer; her sons, Roscoe Gilbert Greer and Gary Lynn Greer; her grandson, Jason E. Greer; her brothers, Charles Wesley and Clarence Roscoe Minter; her sister, Peggy JoAnne Minter; and her son in law, Joe Bliss.

Survivors include her sons, Larry E. Greer (Vicki) and Paul D. Greer (Susan); her daughters, LaVern Bliss, Carolyn J. Smith (Walter), Faye Wilburn (Mike), and Lois D. Fessel (Dale); 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Paul Greer will officiate.  Burial will be in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery in New Middletown, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Bliss, Jr., David Smith, Scott Reske, Matt Wilburn, Robert Fessel and Tyler Greer.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Bliss, Carl Smith, Bradack Reske, Austin Wilburn, Darius Sutton and Brandon Behr.
