Nancy J. Geary

Nancy J. Geary, 87, of Corydon, died Monday, March 25, 2024, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.  She was born January 23, 1937, in Aurora, Illinois, to the late Wesley V. Mikesell, Sr. and Helen B. Junkins Mikesell.  Nancy received her BS degree from Oklahoma State University, was a retired bookkeeper, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and loved gardening and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dorothy Peterson; and her brothers, Wesley and Harry Mikesell.

Survivors include her husband, James J. Geary, Sr.; her son, James J. Geary, Jr. (Challee Smith) of Georgetown, Kentucky; her daughters, Kathleen Geary of Corydon, Susan Sanchez of Louisville, Barbara Vergin (Eric Finley) of Louisville, and Elizabeth Costello (Kevin) of Gilbert, Arizona; her brother, William Dennis Mikesell of Muskegon, Michigan; her grandchildren, Frost Belmont, Jonathon Vergin, Eva Belmont, Michael Vergin, Christopher Costello, and Allison Costello; and her great grandchildren, Alyease Geary, Azeria Williams, and Sophia Costello.

Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

As Nancy would have said “Be Kind to Others”, and in that spirit, the family request that expressions of sympathy be made to your local hospice organization.
