Lois J. "Jackie" Carpenter

Lois J. “Jackie” Carpenter, 85, died Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Indian Creek Healthcare Center in Corydon.  She was born March 19, 1939, in Aiken, South Carolina, to the late Job Hubert Toole and Lois Emory McCorkle Toole.  She was a retired editor-in-chief at O’Bannon Publishing Company in Corydon, and was a member of Pfrimmer’s Chapel near Corydon.   

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Virgil Pace Carpenter, Sr..

Survivors include her sons, Virgil Pace “Butch” Carpenter, Jr. and Gerald Lee “Jerry” Carpenter; her daughter, Vickie Ann McDougal; her brother, Ron Toole; her sister, Rosine “Zene” Toole; 6 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be in Pfrimmer’s Chapel Cemetery near Corydon.

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
