James Asa "Jamie" Mathes, Jr. Obituary

James Asa “Jamie” Mathes, Jr., 47, of Clarksville, having struggled with addiction for the majority of his adult life, sadly lost the battle and died on Monday, April 1, 2024, at his home in Clarksville.  He was born August 25, 1976, in New Albany, Indiana, to Mary Kathryn Bischoff Mathes and the late James Asa Mathes, Sr..  He was a graduate of New Albany High School and Prosser School of Welding, and was a former employee at Samtech and most recently of WM Lumber in New Albany.

Survivors include his mother of Lanesville; his sister, Laura McCutcheon of Indianapolis and Jacqueline Pittman (Michael) of Lanesville; his niece, Courtney Bolton (Bub) of Jeffersonville; his great nephew, William Bolton of Jeffersonville; and his beloved cat, Sammy Mathes, who by the way needs a good home – HMU if you can take him.

Jamie, as he was known to his family and friends, was a very much loved brother, uncle, and friend to so many, and will be sorely missed.
