Wayne K. Jacobs, 82, of New Albany, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.  He was born September 21, 1933, in Mauckport, Indiana, to the late Strauther Alva and Nancy Jane Applegate Jacobs.  He was formerly employed with the Floyd County Indiana Highway Department and attended the Faith and Love Church in New Albany.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Lonnie, James, William, Carl, Earl, Noel, John and Adrian Jacobs; and his sisters, Rozella McKim, Elma Lopp, Sylvia Shaffer and Ramona Faith.

Survivors include his life partner, Sharon J. Vance Libka; his daughter, Clarissa A. Ballard of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; his brother, Darrell R. Jacobs of Elizabeth, Indiana; his sister, Wanda Coe of New Albany, Indiana; his grandchildren, Jason W. Gilbert and Broderic R. Ballard; and his great grandson, Jonah Gilbert.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Rodger Wiggs will officiate Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia.

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
