Virginia E. “Jenny” Brown, 76, of Georgetown, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 24, 1940, in Laconia, Indiana, to the late Kelso M. and Georgia Robson Dean. She was formerly employed at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Bag Plant near Charlestown, Indiana, was a member of the Georgetown Christian Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. Jenny loved gardening, especially roses and day lilies. She always placed the needs and wishes of others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Augusta Jorja.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Laurice F. Brown; her sons, Barry and Kelley (Gretchen) Brown; her brother, Nelson Dean (Jean); her grandchildren, Adam, Austin, Taylor, Brennan, Kendall and Landon and her great grandchildren, Claire, Broaden and Kingston.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Greg Carter and Rev. Roebin Tyler will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery near Laconia.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Adam, Austin and Isaac Brown, Marty Wiseman, Chuck Marshall and Brian Beckort. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Beckort, Charlie Marshall and Lamar Miller.
