Suzann LaValle Cureton Chism, 76, of English, formerly of Simpsonville and Greenville, South Carolina, went home to God, Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana.  She was born June 25, 1940, in Fortuna, California, to the late Edward James and Margaret Juanita Bastian Cureton.  She was a retired secretary, was an extra class HAMM radio operator with the call sign of N4ENX, was a lifetime member of the Amateur Radio Relay League, and she loved sewing, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, studying genealogy, and feeding and watching wildlife.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Meredith Rowena Cooney, Anita Louise Cureton and Elaine Meridith McDougal.

 

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John Earl Chism; her sister, Carolynn Margaret Alvarez (Dave) of Kennewick, Washington; and her brother, Edmund James “Kelly” Cureton of Lathrop, California.

 

As per Suzann’s wishes, cremation was chosen.

 

There will be a rosary service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Father Rob Hankee will officiate.

 

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
