Ruby Sharlene Hardsaw, 82, of Laconia, died Monday, September 19, 2016, at Beard’s Assisted Living near Laconia.  She was born September 20, 1933, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Essie Lee and Nora Neafus Faith.  She was a cook and janitor at the South Central Schools and was a member of Union Chapel Christian Church near Laconia.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Duane “J.D.” Hardsaw; her brothers, Burl, Tom, Robert and Alfred Faith; and her sister, Vida Lurie.

 

Survivors include her sons, James Frank “Jimmy” Hardsaw (Linda) of Elizabeth, Indiana and Gary Lynn Hardsaw (Teresa) of Sellersburg, Indiana; her daughters, Gloria Jean Farnsley (Gary Ray) of Elizabeth and Rebecca Sue Menges (Richard) of Lanesville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Jamie Miller, Jennifer Robson, Ryan Farnsley, Alisha Hess, Jason, Joe, Autumn and Josh Hardsaw, and Riley, Aidan and Adalyn Menges; and her great grandchildren, Shane and Kendall Miller, Jared and Brooklyn Robson, Harper Hess, Jack Farnsley and Carter Hardsaw.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Brother Bill Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia.

 

Visitation will be from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Otterbein Cemetery Fund.

 

Pallbearers will be Jason & Joe Hardsaw, Ryan Farnsley, Nathan & Jared Robson, Eric Hess and Scott Miller.  Honorary pallbearer will be Shane Miller.
