Ron Simpson, 70, of Corydon, Indiana, went peacefully home to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 28, 2016, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Ron was a beloved teacher, attorney and former Harrison County Prosecutor (1986-2002).
Ron was born July 22, 1945, in Russellville, Kentucky, to the late Charles and Earline Ladd Simpson. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville Law School. He was Corydon town attorney, served for 25 years as the attorney for the Harrison county REMC, and was a faithful member of Southeast Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Faye Page.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 47 years; two daughters, Melodie Roberts (Duane) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Lesley Hoagland of Corydon; and two sisters, Barbara Penrod and Brenda Blick of Russellville, Kentucky. Poppa will be greatly missed by his five grandchildren Maya, Gabe, Mollie, Amelia and Charlotte.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at First Capital Christian Church in Corydon. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
