Robert W. Knear
May 1, 2016Robert W. Knear, 74, of Corydon, died Sunday, May 1, 2016, at his home near Corydon. He was born November 1, 1941, in Louisville, to the late Frank and Harriet Leffler Knear. He was a retired machinist at Illinois Tool Works in Ferndale, Michigan and Rite-Way Industries in New Albany; and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Old Capitol Aerie #2794 in Corydon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Luther Knear.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patricia E. Fink Knear; his daughters, Jeannine Gentry (Daryn) of Ekron, Kentucky, Cherie Hofmann (Jason) of Corydon and Marie Knear (James Wimsatt) of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; his brothers, Richard Knear (Gloria) of New Albany and Larry Knear (Judy) of Elizabeth, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Sabrina and Elise Hofmann, Aloria, Isabella and D.J. Gentry, Wesley Wimsatt and Keven Hess.
There will be a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Jim Higdon will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the COPD Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
