Robert E. Chanley, 86, of Leavenworth, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.  He was born July 11, 1930, in Leavenworth, to the late Lawrence and Pansy Thornton Chanley.  He was a retired carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charmaine Luallen Chanley; his son, Robert E. Chanley, Jr.; his daughter, Joyce Chavez; his brothers, Jack, Charles, Jesse and James; and his siter, Goldie Mitchell.

Survivors include his daughters, Betty Brawner (George) of Crestwood, Kentucky, Donna McClellan of Pacoima, California, and Mary Lou Couvillion (Wayne) of Louisville; his brothers, William Chanley (Peggy) of New Albany, Indiana and Donald Ray Chanley (Martha)of Mauckport, Indiana; his sisters, Alice Pellman of Clarkson, Kentucky and Brenda Summers (Jerry) of English, Indiana; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Jim Higdon will officiate.  Burial will be in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Cody & Richard Pauley, Hunter Terrell, Brandon Crayden, Chris Leedy, and Caleb Wilkinson.
