Michael R. Gaither

Michael R. Gaither, 78, of Corydon, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, at his home near Corydon.  He was born June 16, 1939, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Gentry Thomas Sr. and Alma Grace Kerr Gaither.  He was retired branch manager with Penske Truck Leasing in Brattleboro, Vermont, and was a member of Old Capitol United Methodist Church near Corydon and the Harrison County Democratic Central Committee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, James, Delmar and Paul Gaither.

Survivors include his wife, Carole M. Davis Gaither; his daughters, Yvonne Marie Campbell (Jesse) of Monroe, North Carolina and Charlotte Ann Rotrekl (Thomas) of Somerset, Kentucky; his brothers, Charles Gaither (Ellen) of Nineveh, Indiana, Gentry T. Gaither, Jr. of Sun City West, Arizona, and Roger Gaither (Donna) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Michael Paul Varnell (Rachel), Marcus Craig Varnell (Danyel), Kristopher Joseph Popick, and Steven Daniel Popick; and his great grandchildren, Katelyn, Chase, Tala, Josiah and Daniel.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Andy Hansen will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Cancer Society or your local hospice.
