Michael Kent “Cookie” DeVore, 59, of New Albany, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at New Albany Nursing & Rehabilitation in New Albany.  He was born October 18, 1956, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Norval E. and Barbara E. Shireman DeVore.  He was a veteran of the Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rhonda Sue DeVore.

Survivors include his son, Michael Richard DeVore of New Albany; his brothers, Marvin E. DeVore (Joyce) of Salem, Indiana and Devin L. DeVore of Corydon; and his sister, Marlica K. King (Robert) of Mauckport, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Mauckport.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
