James William “Jim” Hart, 88, of Corydon, died Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon. He was born July 5, 1928, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Albert and Donnie Breeden Hart. He was a retired machinist at the Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville, was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2950 and the American Legion both in Corydon, the North American Hunting Club, and the NRA, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, June Lavon Stoner Hart.
Survivors include his sons, Steve Hart (Stephanie) of Seymour, Indiana, Bill Hart (Taresa) of Corydon, Dale Hart of Corydon, Larry Hart (Sharon) of Corydon, and John Hart of Corydon; his daughter, Karen Sutherland of Corydon; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastor Lida Bain will officiate. Burial will be in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dale and Larry Hart, Shannon Sadler, Ernie Sutherland, IV, Bradley Sutherland, and Brian Sutherland.
