James F. “Jim” Saulman, 88, of Corydon, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, Indiana. He was born July 24, 1929, in Corydon, to the late Ellsworth J. and Alma Kiger Saulman. He was a former owner of Saulman Brothers Tree Service, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Corydon Moose Lodge and was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie Jean Brangers Saulman; his son, Robert Anthony “Tony” Fuqua; his brother, Paul E. Saulman; his sisters, Pauline Ashton and Alyce Watson; and his granddaughter, Teresa Flickner.
Survivors include his daughters, Debbie L. Gresham (Dwight) and Kimberly S. Stewart (Roger) both of Corydon, and Jill Ann Delaney (Donald) of Clearwater, Florida; his brothers, Carl “Corky” Saulman and Kenneth Saulman (Naomi) both of Corydon; his sister, Susie Troncin (Tommy) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Tina, Tammy, Traci, Jennifer, Jeremy, Joshua, Mandy, Misha, Matthew, Shane and Wendy; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
His funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon. Father Robert Hankee will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
There will be a rosary service at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Joshua and Jeremy Stewart, Matthew Delaney, Jeff Harmon, Marty Moore, and Steve Spires. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Wilke, Chase Moore, Lane Flickner, Dylan and Ethan Caldwell, Zavier and Zander Spires, and Shane Gresham.
