James H. Ashenfelter, 79, of Corydon, died Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Harrison Springs Health Campus in Corydon. He was born December 21, 1938, in Wiley Ford, West Virginia, to the late Ernest and Ethel Bryant Ashenfelter. He was a retired Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans George Rogers Clark Chapter #16 in New Albany, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Jeanie A. Ashenfelter.
Survivors include his sons, Roger Ashenfelter of Gilbert, Arizona and James Desurne of Concord, California; his daughters, Monica Hanna of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Debra Jean Brannan of Corydon; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Inurnment will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, Kentucky.
