Irwin J. Walter, 88, of Milltown, died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.  He was born November 22, 1927, in Lanesville, Indiana, to the late Herman and Edith Benson Walter.  He was retired from the Ford Motor Company LAP in Louisville, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church near Marengo, Indiana and was a Hardinsburg Senior.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Geneva Troncin Walter.

 

Survivors include his son, Bernard Walter of Carefree, Indiana; his daughters, Rebecca Heintz of New Albany, Indiana, Kathy Pate (Alan) of Depauw, Indiana and Karen Trett (Randy) of Palmyra, Indiana; his brothers, John Walter (Nancy) and Jude Walter (Irene) both of Lanesville, Indiana; his sisters, Frances Hess of Lanesville, Roberta Garrett of Clarksville, Indiana and Leola Braun (Frank) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

 

His funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church near Marengo.  Father Fred Dennison will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 8:00 a.m. Saturday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. 

 

Pallbearers will be Jason Pate, Sean Uhl, Charles Pitman, Brian Walter, Gary Wayne Holloway, and Greg Holloway.

 

There will be a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to his church.
