Fern L. Wolfe Beard, 91, of Ramsey, died Friday, February 5, 2016, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.  She was born April 23, 1924, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Charles Edward and Frona Fern Fravel Wolfe.  She was formerly employed at the old Hurst Miles Store in Corydon, was a loving and dedicated homemaker, and was a lifelong devoted Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A. Henry Beard; and her brothers, Rev. James S. Wolfe and Rev. Wayne Wolfe. 

Survivors include her children, Betty L. Sams (James) of Corydon, Dennis R. Beard of Chicago, Illinois and Roger L. Beard (Kim) of Corydon; her grandchildren, Weldon J. Sams (Nora) of Portland, Oregon and Brandon R. Sams (April) of Portland; and her great grandchild, Kelvin Roggeveen-Sams of Portland.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with Marcus Martin officiating.  Burial will be in Woods Chapel Cemetery near Ramsey with Martin Davis officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Weldon and Brandon Sams, Michael and Jeffrey Thomas, James M. Wolfe and Cody Austin.
