Ethel Ekart, 94, of Laconia, died Monday, June 26, 2017.  She was born April 7, 1923, in Laconia, to the late William H. and Millie Cunningham Pindell.  She was formerly employed at the old Indiana Army Ammunition bag plant in Charlestown, Indiana and Keller Manufacturing Company in Corydon, and was a member of the Laconia United Presbyterian Church for over 80 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burrell F. Ekart; her brothers, John F. and Wilbur R. Pindell; and her granddaughter, Amanda J. Ekart.

Survivors include her sons, Jay F. Ekart and Jerry L. Ekart (Judy) both of Laconia, and her grandson, Kevin F. Ekart (Sara) of Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Brother Ron Stuart will officiate.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Old Goshen Cemetery near Laconia.
