Edward Nance, 77, of Elizabeth, passed in peace with his family by his side on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. He was born September 21, 1940, in Elizabeth, Indiana. He was the former owner of Nance’s General Store and was a truck driver for Active Transportation and SDS Logistics.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Smith; his brothers, Clarence and Earl Nance; and his sisters, Darlene Best and Hazel Fulton.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Novita Brengman Nance; his children, Jimmy Nance (Janet) of Elizabeth, Melissa Smith (David) of New Albany and Marcy Timberlake (Brian) of Lanesville, Indiana; his sister, Elnora Sutton of Frankfort, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Scott Nance (Sara), Tara Nance (Julian), Shelbie Steele (Chaz), Jordan Smith, Lucas Timberlake and Dylan Nance; and his great grandchild, Jayden Steele.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville. Pastor Ronald Richeson will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. John’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Nance, Julian Carrillo, Chaz Steele, Jordan Smith, Lucas Timberlake and Dylan Nance.
