Dorothy Jean Lopp, 90, of Elizabeth, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon. She was born June 28, 1926, in Louisville, to the late Louis and Cleo Coleman Treece. Dorothy and her family moved to Elizabeth after the Great Flood of 1937. She worked at the S.S. Kresge Department Store in Louisville for a number of years and was a member of the Elizabeth Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Von Lopp; and her children, Von and Yvonne Lopp.
Survivors include her children, Phyllis Steiner (William “Bill” Popp), Dale Lopp (Rena) and Dean Lopp all of Elizabeth; her grandchildren, Laura Steiner-Weathers (Victor) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Jason Steiner (Brandy) of Corydon, and Lisa Lopp and John Lopp both of Elizabeth; 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Gilbert Duley will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Kidney Fund.
Pallbearers will be Jason Steiner, John Lopp, Marc Richardson, William “Bill” Hornickel, Dennis Lopp and Mark Hornickel.
