Donna L. Summers, 67, of Corydon, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Baptist Health-Floyd in New Albany.  She was born December 20, 1949, in Corydon, to the late Eldon and Anna Lois Davis Kintner.  She was retired from the Heth-Washington Elementary School cafeteria where she worked for 25 years, was formerly employed as a teller at the Old Capital Bank in Corydon, was a member of First Capital Christian Church in Corydon, and attended Northside Christian Church in New Albany.  Donna was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and always put her grandchildren first. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Brian Summers.

 

Survivors include her husband of 43 wonderful years, Roy S. Summers; her son, Mark E. Summers of Corydon; her daughter, Tammy L. McCorkle (Tim) of Munfordsville, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Jacob E., Tyler J. and Bryan J. Summers, and Jesse and Abigail McCorkle; and her sister, Judy Hardsaw of Corydon.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Randy Kirk will officiate.  Burial will be in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.

 

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Home of the Innocents, 1100 East Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40206.

 

Pallbearers will be Mark, Jacob and Tyler Summers, Tim and Jesse McCorkle, and Melvin Rudolph.
