Carl Robert Dodds, 82, of Corydon, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.  He was born April 15, 1935, in Corydon, to the late Billy C. and Treasy L. Reising Dodds.  He was employed at General Electric in Louisville for 17 years, was the owner of Dodds and Sons Service Station for 17 years, was an employee of the Harrison County Highway Department for 6 years, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brandenburg, Kentucky, and was a past member and deacon at the Corydon Baptist Church for many years.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Billy Dodds.

 

Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Edna R. Floyd Dodds; his children, Robert E. Dodds (Sheila) of Elizabeth, Carol Dodds LeMond (Kirby) of Lanesville, and Carl Douglas Dodds (Beverly) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Dawn LeMond Morris (Mike), Christopher R. Dodds (Sarah), and Cody LeMond; his great grandchildren, Karlee Morris, Maycee Morris, and Bailey Dodds; and his sisters, Betty Dodds North (Elvis) of Lineville, Alabama, and Shirley Dodds Owen (Ronnie) of Floyds Knobs.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Sherman Ramsey will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Cancer Society.

 

Pallbearers will be Rick Floyd, Chris Dodds, Cody LeMond, Mike Morris, Charlie Snyder and Tony Allen.  Honorary pallbearers will be Charley Shireman and Paul Martin.
